Project: Elements of Art Wheel Students will be completing a study of the Elements of art. This will help students to build on their fundamental skills and prepare them for future projects. Goals: Identify all 7 elements of art and be able to visually illustrate each. Materials: students may choose the material(s) of their choice. Reference materials: Students have each received an ABC's of Art packet that identifies, illustrates and gives examples of all elements of art. Due Date: 2/21/20 Project: Positive/negative Animal Zentangle Students will draw a silhouette of an animal and then use lines, shapes and patterns to emphasize the image. Goals: identify the positive and negative space, create detailed designs using only a sharpie and lines and shapes, create a high contrast in the artwork. Due Date: 3/6/20 |

Reference materials: Students have each received an ABC's of Art packet that identifies, illustrates and gives examples of all elements of art. Due Date: 3/18/20 |
2-D Art
Project: Soda Can Observational Drawing Students are working on basic technical skills associated with observational drawing. Students have practiced drawing, shading, and working with correct proportions in their sketchbooks to help them practice these skills. For their project students have been given a soda can and are drawing it from direct observation, they are then using colored pencils, graphite or charcoal to add value and details. they will then collage a boarder around their final design. Differentiation: Level 1- draw 1 soda can without any distortion. Level 2- draw soda can from a unique angle. Level 3- crush can slightly to make the drawing a bit more difficult. Level 4- create a simple still life out of multiple cans. Level 5 - create more difficult still life out of multiple crushed cans. Due Date: 3/6/20 |
